Black Creek Trails
The Black Creek Trail system consists of eight multi-use trails and connectors for those who enjoy walking, running, hiking, and bicycling. Enter the original Black Creek Trail beside the wedding chapel located at Noccalula Falls Campground and is 1.7 miles each way. Enjoy the beauty of your surroundings on this peaceful, scenic walk.

Jams D Martin Wildlife Park
This gorgeous bird sanctuary is part of The Alabama Birding Trail and is located off Hwy 411, behind the Gadsden Mall. Enjoy elevated boardwalks with scenic vantage points, paved walking/biking paths, and hiking trails through the woods.
Riverwalk Park at Coosa Landing
This beautiful riverfront park along the Coosa River adjacent to Coosa Landing features a spectacular boardwalk to walk along the mighty Coosa River. There are several covered picnic pavilions on the path.
The best place to park is at Coosa Landing, behind the Dollar General store at 108 Hood Ave.
Vivian Lee Maddox Sports Complex Walking Trail
Located at the rear of the Lee Sports Complex in Rainbow City, the walking trail is a paved .8 mile loop surrounded by woods. A small lake is located in the perimeter along with a picnic pavilion.
For a longer walk or ride, the trail connects with the John Jones Elementary School walking path that runs alongside Lumley Road, adding another mile. The track at Rainbow Middle School is accessible from this path and is lighted for nighttime journeys.
Horse Pens 40
Horse Pens 40 Loop is a 1.9 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Steele, Alabama, offering the chance to see wildlife and unique rock formations. The track is primarily used for hiking and running and is accessible year-round. It is rated as moderate.
NOTE: Horse Pens 40 is privately-owned land, and there is a fee to enter.
