Clocking in at a whopping 690 miles, you might be asking yourself where to start your World’s Longest Yard Sale adventure. Gadsden, Alabama, is the official starting point, so it’s best to start there.
Hundreds of vendors set up throughout the front section of Noccalula Falls Park.
The crew from Greater Gadsden Area Tourism will be operating their Welcome Center, passing out route maps, fans, free water bottles, and tons of local intel. Be sure and take a photo at the famous super-sized selfie station while you’re there. They even have the World’s Longest Yard Sale collectible t-shirts available for purchase. And of course, the majestic 90-foot Noccalula Falls is mere steps away.
The first weekend in August sees bargain hunters, treasure seekers, and pickers from all over the world descend upon Gadsden, Alabama, to score deals. From antiques and collectibles to fine art and crafts, it’s a treasure hunter’s dream come true. Glassware, dishware, purses, automobile parts, furniture; if you can think of it, it’s for sale at the World’s Longest Yard Sale!
TIPS FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE:
Some vendors will have the means to accept credit cards, but all things considered, you’re better off going with cash.
Have lots of room to carry your purchases in your vehicle – some people like to ship things home as they go.
Be careful driving, watch for people crossing the road and be on the lookout for cars pulling over or pulling out suddenly.
Bring sunscreen and bug spray.
Be prepared to haggle and bargain.
