There’s nothing better than hitting the road with your family. Not only does it give you quality time with the kids, but you can also broaden your horizons and discover new things. Why not visit the Greater Gadsden area and have your own “gadventure” this spring break? There are plenty of exciting things to see and do.
Discover some of the possibilities below.
1) Ignite Your Child’s Imagination
Imaginations run wild at Imagination Place Children’s Museum. Designed primarily for children ages 2 through 10, this interactive play place has a Tiny Town USA permanent exhibit where kids can visit the bank grocery shop and play in the construction pit while learning about the community. They also have rotating seasonal exhibits. Don’t forget to go upstarts at the Mary G. Hardin Center and see the train.
2) Enjoy the Outdoors
Head to Noccalula Falls Park to see the magnificent 90-foot waterfall named for Noccalula, a young Cherokee maiden who plunged to her untimely death rather than forsake her true love, according to legend.
While there, visit the pioneer village, a group of rustic, hand-hewn log buildings representing a display of pioneer living conditions. The town includes a country store, grist mill, covered bridge, pioneer home, smokehouse, blacksmith shop, and more.

3) Get Airborne
If you’ve ever had to tell your kids to quit jumping on the bed, you’re not going to want to miss this next spot.
Jump and fly on over 10,000 square feet of connected, world-class trampolines at The Factory. Don’t miss the Sci-Fi Safari Galactic Laser Course. Step inside a real-life video game for laser tag with a twist.
4) Take a Walk on the Wild Side
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Tigers for Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain is home to over 160 animals, including tigers, mountain lions, African lions, bears, wolves, black leopards, etc. Observe these magnificent animals up close and personal. Self-guided and guided tours are available.
5) Climb a Rock Wall
Step outside of your comfort zone and learn some new skills at Gadrock. Enjoy climbing for all skill levels, with the tallest wall at 38 feet. There is also a designated bouldering area overlooking the beautiful Lake Gadsden.
6) Throw Axes, Go Bowling, or Tee It Up For a Round of Putt-Putt
Up for a little friendly competition? Visit Lagatha’a House of Axe for ax throwing and a vintage arcade if the kids are older. Kids 14 and up can participate. Ax throwing is similar to darts but with axes where players aim for the circle’s center.
The Alley is the newest addition to indoor fun in the Greater Gadsden area. Located in the Gadsden Mall, they have 18 lanes of Bowling, a sixty-seat arcade, and a full-service restaurant and bar.
If some indoor mini-golf sounds fun, check out Black Light Mini-Golf in the Gadsden Mall. After, take a spin on the carousel, grab some lunch in the food court, or take in a movie. Prefer your round in the great outdoors? There’s a beautifully landscaped putt-putt course at Noccalula Falls Park.
What are you waiting for? The perfect spring-break “Gadventure” awaits!
