September Fun in the Greater Gadsden Area

Labor Day weekend signals the end of summer for many people, but that certainly doesn’t mean the fun stops. There’s plenty to do post-Labor Day in the Greater Gadsden area. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Attend a Farmer’s Market

It’s not too late to grab some farm fresh produce and delicious baked goods at one of the areas Farmer’s Markets. Gadsden’s 5th Street Market, as well as the markets in Attalla, Rainbow City, and Glencoe will run throughout September.

First Friday and Summer Concert Series @The Amp

The fun begins at 6 PM. Enjoy spending time in historic downtown Gadsden the First Friday of every month. Classic cars, food, entertainment, and fun!

After FIrst Friday, join us under the stars at the historic Mort Glosser Amphitheater after First Friday for a FREE concert featuring U.S. Band!  We’re rockin’ it 80s style, so tease that hair and bust out the Member’s Only jackets. Coolers are welcome (no glass bottles).

First Saturday Tail-Gate Throwdown

Bundle up the kids, round up your prized pigskin, throw on your favorite team colors, and truck on down to historic Carver Square Tuscaloosa Avenue for a tailgate party extravaganza!

Enjoy loads of activities and festive foods that are sure to warm your body and spirit. The fun starts at 5 PM and runs until 9 PM on September 7.

Girl’s Night Out

Honey, there ain’t no doubt that you need to attend this shopping extravaganza event! Participating retail stores in Historic Downtown Gadsden will stay open late and offer specials. There will also be chances to win prizes. Shop ’till you drop September 12.

Attend a show at The Ritz Theatre

The Miracle Worker will be performed live multiple times the weekend of September 14. The classic play tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and deaf Helen Keller.

Compete in an Obstacle Race

But this isn’t just any obstacle race. See how you stack up against professional CrossFit athlete in this three-mile challenge at Noccalula Falls on September 14.
