Temps are dropping, and soon the leaves will be too. We’re always a little sad to see summer go, but there’s plenty to do in the Greater Gadsden area in the fall.
Here are a few suggestions to make the most of the season.
Bike the Black Creek Trails
Adjacent to the magnificent Noccalula Falls, over twelve miles of multi-use trails await, offering everything from the beginner-friendly family loop to the thrilling G-Force.
Hike the Gorge at Noccalula Falls
See our ninety-foot waterfall from a whole new perspective. A short, albeit steep hike gets you to the gorge, where you can view the falls from several vantage points. Don’t miss a trek across the suspension bridge while you’re down there. Need trail info? Click HERE for directions.
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Stop by the Sand Mountain Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch for a full day of family fun. They have cow train rides, wagon rides, a huge pumpkin patch, corn maze, corn blasters, duck races, a play barn, and a general store.
Paddle Lake Gadsden
Paddle the backwaters of the Coosa River and view wildlife in and around the James D. Martin Wildlife Park. Bring your own boat or rent a standup paddleboard (SUP) from Gadrock Microgym. They also offer eco-tours, SUP yoga, and SUP and Sip paddles.
Drive the Scenic Lookout Mountain Parkway
The beautiful Lookout Mountain Parkway begins at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden, Alabama, on top of Lookout Mountain. You’ll have a bird’s-eye view of scenic mountains, rock outcroppings, and fabulous fall foliage.
